How will our appointments happen?
Joan can connect with you any number of ways, including FaceTime and other popular video conferencing apps. She requires that the first mentoring appointment utilize video for better and more robust life coaching and communication. However, subsequent appointments can be by phone if the client wishes.
Can I meet Joan in person?
Perhaps. Depending on Joan's travel and your location, in-person life coaching sessions are possible (though limited). Should EmpowerMentor's clientele warrant visits to nearby urban locales (such as Tulsa, OK; Kansas City, MO: St. Louis, MO), Joan will advertise her availability.
Is this really going to work?
The good news is, you get to decide. Your first mentoring appointment is offered at a rate of $50. After that, you will have discussed your needs and EmpowerMentor's life coach services with Joan and agreed upon a fee schedule and method of payment.
What is Joan's standard hourly rate?
Your first mentoring appointment is offered at a rate of $50. After that, Joan charges $75 for a 50-minute session. There are a limited number of scholarships available for individuals who qualify. These scholarships provide a partial subsidy for clients unable to pay the standard rate for a life coach. Be sure to ask Joan if you qualify for one of EmpowerMentor's scholarships.
When/how do I pay? What about cancellations?
Payment is expected after appointment confirmation but prior to the coaching appointment. Joan prefers Paypal and Venmo, but is happy to discuss other options with you. At this time, there is no charge for appointments not kept, but that policy is subject to change. Practice good manners by communicating pro-actively with your life coach, being on time, and alerting Joan if your schedule changes.
How do I fund a scholarship?
Joan's clients are encouraged to think about paying it forward. If you'd like to help fund a scholarship for an EmpowerMentor client, talk to Joan about how it works. Mentoring scholarships are offered on a sliding scale based on household income. Your contribution to the EmpowerMentor's life coach fund will pay it forward to a client who qualifies for financial assistance. EmpowerMentor is a for-profit business. As such, we cannot offer charitable gift receipts for your scholarship donation. Instead, Joan will pool your contribution with others in order to offer a reduced rate to clients who qualify. EmpowerMentor will ask scholarship recipients to verbally report their household income in order to determine a reduced rate on a sliding scale. Reporting will be on the honor system and no income verification will be necessary.
